Philosophy

Island Sea Snow art does not come out of chasing trends and external commissions.  As the founder and producer my hands move through every work incorporating personal experiences, visions, desires, or responses that become visual works.  These works are now presented for others (whoever those others may be).  The focus is personal expression, not corporate marketing manipulation or social governance hypocrisy.

FREEDOM & DISCOVERY.  Freedom is always one of our chief desires as it reflects our will that wants choice.  The reflection of that will can be tyranny, deception, & oppression or freedom and finding joy in the journey; leaving a legacy of peace, truth, faith, hope, & love instead of chaos.

FANTASY & BEAUTY.  What a wonderful outlet of escape while still being grounded in reality.  Humans are creative beings and fantastical worlds can also be very engaging with lessons.  Admittedly, some art has been a response to the attack on womanhood and her strong natural feminine qualities.  The caution is going too far in the opposite direction when displaying her magnificence.  As I go further towards the inspiration category, expect to see more modest physical portrayals while still uplifting a female as she is designed.

COMEDY.  Times of lightheartedness and laughter are like good medicine.  Many coming out of our own experiences or cartoonish ideas.  Some from pain that provokes thought in a humorous way and some that is just funny observation.

INSPIRATION.  How many actually test the strength of their own belief system?  Why do they really believe such things at all?  As a youth my entire belief system couldn't expand past my own selfishness and spoon-fed propaganda.  A tested belief system leads to a consistent worldview without glaring contradictions.  Inspiration stands strong after pursuing the ways of secular humanistic philosophy and experimentation.

CREATION ESCAPES.  The therapeutic wonder of creation helps to unwind and reflect, realizing how bound up we can get in a fast concrete jungle metroplex.  Explore and rejuvenate on a great adventure.  Let true priorities infuse perspective.

Artistry.  The art is composed primarily as vector or digital illustration.  Sometimes all goes smooth with the satisfaction of knowing the piece is done, other times the journey leads to something entirely different than what the mind first imagined and is much better.  Then there are those that just aren't right and are revisited over the course of many weeks.  Some theme variations take on a life of their own until finally worked out of the system.  Out of the volume of work there are three published fair use vector works that were minimally altered as they already reflected my mind and style so well.  These were made unique; many thanx to these three for being so giving ^_^
